A Structured Tutoring Process
How it works.
Online sessions
Available nationwideSTEP 01
Identify the Roadblocks
We identify what is already solid, where the gaps are, and what needs to improve before the next quiz, exam, or assignment.
STEP 02
Build the Plan
I review the syllabus, current assignments, and upcoming deadlines so our sessions stay connected to what is actually happening in the course.
STEP 03
Work Through the Problems
We solve problems together on a shared digital whiteboard, with emphasis on why each step works and how to recognize the same idea in a new form.
STEP 04
Review After the Session
You receive organized whiteboard notes and supporting materials after each session, plus the full recording of every online session. Everything stays in one place, organized by course, so you can go back to it later.
In-person sessions
Virginia Beach onlySTEP 01
Identify the Roadblocks
We identify what is already solid, where the gaps are, and what needs to improve before the next quiz, exam, or assignment — and confirm your zip code falls inside the 15-minute travel radius.
STEP 02
Agree the Location
In-person sessions are typically held at Oberndorf Central Library. Other nearby locations may be considered after the first call.
STEP 03
Work Through the Problems
Shoulder-to-shoulder problem solving on the shared OneNote whiteboard, with emphasis on why each step works — and every page still exports to your files afterwards.
STEP 04
Review After the Session
You receive organized whiteboard notes and supporting materials after each session, kept in one place and organized by course. In-person sessions are not recorded.
What you keep after each session
Every student receives a secure Google Drive folder, organized by course, with ongoing access so you can go back to the material after the sessions end.
Whiteboard exports
High-resolution PDF exports of the OneNote whiteboard we worked on — every derivation, exactly as we wrote it.
Session recordings
Online sessions are recorded end to end with audio and screen, so any step can be replayed later. In-person sessions are not recorded.
Custom reference sheets
When a topic warrants it, typeset reference material built for the course you are actually taking rather than a generic formula sheet. Not every session produces one.
What I need from you
This is the part that makes the difference. Send your syllabus, the current problem set, recent notes, or the topics on the next exam before we meet. I review all of it beforehand, so the hour is spent on your specific roadblocks instead of on me reading your assignment for the first time.
If you have a specific homework problem you cannot get past, send that. We will work through your actual problems, not generic examples.
Scheduling
Online sessions are booked directly through the private calendar once we have spoken. In-person sessions are coordinated manually after the first call, so the location and the travel radius can be confirmed.
Changes of plan
Sessions are paid at booking. Cancel or reschedule more than 24 hours before the start time and you receive a full credit toward a future session; inside 24 hours the session is forfeited. Full terms are in the Cancellation Policy.
