Public Speaking

Technical presentation coaching for STEM students and professionals who need structure, delivery, and confidence when speaking to an audience.

Who this is for

Engineering and science students, as well as early-career technical professionals, who need to present complex topics clearly.

This is for individuals preparing for capstone presentations, technical briefings, or speaking engagements where clarity and delivery are just as important as the data itself.

What usually goes wrong

  • Reading the slides. Using the presentation as a teleprompter, which disengages the audience immediately.
  • The data dump. Drowning the audience in technical details without a clear narrative or bottom-line conclusion.
  • Pacing and filler words. Speaking too quickly due to nerves and filling silence with "um" and "like".
  • Failing to adapt. Giving the exact same presentation to a technical peer group and a non-technical executive board.

The approach

Presentation Structure. We build a clear narrative arc. Your audience needs to know the problem, the methodology, and the result without getting lost in the weeds.

Delivery Mechanics. We practice pacing, volume control, and body language to project confidence, even if you are nervous.

Audience Adaptation. We tailor the depth of the technical content based on who is in the room. A capstone advisor needs different details than a hiring manager.

Q&A Handling. We run mock Q&A sessions to practice thinking on your feet and addressing difficult or unexpected questions professionally.

What sessions include

  • Full Session Recording. Crucial for public speaking. Watching your own delivery is one of the most effective ways to eliminate filler words and fix pacing.
  • Personalized Feedback & Action Plan. Detailed notes on your slide structure, narrative flow, and delivery mechanics.
  • Practice Resources. Frameworks for outlining technical talks and handling unexpected Q&A.
  • Flexible Online Scheduling. Booked directly on my calendar.

Common questions

Can we practice a specific presentation I have coming up?

Yes, absolutely. Most students bring a specific capstone or project presentation to our sessions. We will work directly on your actual slides and delivery.

Do you help with slide design?

I do not design slides for you, but we will heavily review your slide structure. I will help you reduce text, highlight key data, and ensure your slides support your talk rather than distract from it.

I get extremely nervous. Can this help?

Yes. Nerves are normal. The most effective antidote to anxiety is a rigid, reliable structure and simulated practice. Knowing exactly how you will open, transition, and close removes the uncertainty that causes panic.

Ready to refine your delivery?
