Mathematics

High School Mathematics

Students often appear to have a calculus problem, algebra problem, or geometry problem — but the real issue is usually a missing connection between concepts. From algebraic reasoning to precalculus, I help students understand why mathematical concepts work, building the foundation they need to succeed in higher-level STEM.

The Mathematics Roadmap

Each mathematics course builds strictly on the one before it. Gaps in understanding do not disappear when the semester ends; they simply become the reason the next course feels impossibly hard.

Pre-Algebra

Numbers, variables, equations, and problem-solving habits.

Algebra I & II

Functions, equations, modeling, and mathematical reasoning.

Geometry & Trigonometry

Relationships, proofs, spatial reasoning, and periodic models.

Precalculus

Functions, transformations, and preparation for calculus.

Why students struggle

Many students learn mathematics as a collection of procedures. They memorize formulas without understanding the relationships those formulas describe. When a test asks a question slightly differently than the homework did, they have no intuition to fall back on.

Engineering mindset. My engineering background shapes how I teach math: equations are models of real systems, not isolated symbols. When students learn what the math actually represents, they stop guessing which formula to use and start building solutions logically.

Build the foundation.

We are not just helping your student pass their current math class. Through targeted diagnostic assessments, identifying upstream gaps, and building confidence, we are building the foundation they will rely on in every future math and science course. Send the course name, the textbook, and what you are working toward. I will confirm the subject and the rate before anything is scheduled.
